Location. The historic Le Pavillon Hotel stands in the central business corridor in New Orleans, La. Harrah's New Orleans Casino is located four blocks away. The Aquarium of the Americas and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art are one-half mile from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Le Pavillon Hotel is an architectural landmark that was originally constructed in 1907. The lobby exudes opulence with Parisian woodwork, Italian-marble floors and five Czech crystal chandeliers. The hotel's fine-dining restaurant, The Crystal Room, features high ceilings, a fireplace and portraits of famous New Orleanians. Le Gallery Lounge displays an extremely rare Sienna-marble balustrade constructed of green onyx and bronze. The lounge offers a variety of liquors and an extensive collection of cigars. Beds feature 250-thread count linens and custom bedspreads. Bathrooms feature black-marble floors, walls and vanities. Sinks and shower doors bear the Le Pavillon logo. Expert Tip. A guest who stayed at the hotel on September 10, 1988, missed his daughter whenever he traveled. Each night, he requested a glass of milk and a peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich so that he might honor the family tradition while away from home. The idea caught on, and from that time forward the hotel has served nightly peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches, cocoa with cream, fresh fruit and assorted marmalades in the lobby at 10 p.m. sharp.
