SMP Negeri 1 Cilacap, was just named junior Affairs. This is because at that time the only junior that exist in those days (circa 1944 's). Before becoming a Junior High School, which is now building on Jl. Jend. A. Yani no 15 of this, a longtime elementary school or EUROPESE Netherlands LAGERE SCHOOL / ELS (circa 1941 - 1944 's). Around the year 1944 to year 1947 , SD Holland (ELS) has been turned into Junior High School. The days, the SMP has 4 (four) classes, namely class I, class II, class III and class IV (which now only class I, II, and III SMP).

In the 1947's, Cilacap SMP exist and grow more of its time. Exist and development is evidenced by the presence of school principal at that time. In those days, who became the Principal is Mr Subakir (derived from Gombong) and Deputy Head of school is Ibu Siti Asriyah (original Cilacap).
