Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya also known as BVM is an engineering college located in Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat, India. Founded in 1948, it is one of India's oldest engineering colleges and the first engineering college in Gujarat state. The college rose to prominence under the able stewardship of legendary Profs Junarkar and KM Dholakia. It is one of the few colleges in India that provides education using the credit system. BVM is a grant aided engineering college managed by Charutar Vidya Mandal. Being a grant aided engineering college, a part of college expenditure is beared by Gujarat state and related agencies or ministries and the remaining by Charutar Vidya mandal. It is affiliated to Sardar Patel University. [1]
