Evans High School, named for D.C. Evans, is a large high school in the Evans / Martinez area of Augusta, Georgia. Evans Comprehensive High School is a public suburban high school that serves a diverse population of approximately 1,900 students in grades 9-12. Evans provides a varied curriculum, including specialized vocational, athletic, special education, gifted, and advanced placement programs. Evans focuses on improving student instruction by motivating students to learn, improving thinking and reasoning capabilities, and applying knowledge and reasoning with technology. Evans has maintained regional SACS accreditation throughout its history and has received the School of Excellence Blue Ribbon Award four times, 1984-1985, 1995-1996, 1993-1994, and 2003-2004. [1]
