Lawton High School was the first high school in Lawton, Oklahoma. It is located at 601 NW Fort Sill Blvd in Lawton, Oklahoma. Its school mascot is the Wolverine. During the early 1960's, Lawton High School athletic teams won state championships in 5 sports for 2 consecutive years, the only Oklahoma high school to have ever accomplished this feat. The school became known as "Home of Champions." Famous athletes, who attended Lawton High School, are Eddie Hinton (Baltimore Colts-NFL), Will Shields, (Kansas City Chiefs-NFL), Mike Minter, (Carolina Panthers-NFL), Kelly Stinnett (various Major League Baseball Clubs), Randy Bass (various Major League Baseball Clubs and Hanshin Tigers of Japanese Baseball), Stacey King (Chicago Bulls-National Basketball Association) It is a part of Lawton Public Schools, and is the city rival of both Douglas MacArthur High School and Eisenhower High School.
