Roy C. Start High School is a public high school in western Toledo, Ohio, United States. The school opened in 1962 and is part of the Toledo Public Schools. It was named after Roy C. Start, two-time mayor of Toledo and founder of the West Toledo YMCA. After forty years, the current school building is scheduled to be largely demolished, and construction of a new building is completed. Students have been attending the new Roy C. since the new sememster in January 2008. The only part of the original Roy C. Start high school building will be the auditorium (which currently is being remodeled by the YMCA)and will attach to the new building. Although Start is a public school, students are required to wear uniforms during the school day. (tan, brown, blue pants with any solid colored top with any solid collor) Start is also commonly called St. Art. [1]
