St. Jago High School is a secondary school in Spanish Town Jamaica it had its origin as the Free School of St. Jago de la Vega. Founded in 1744 under the will of Colonel Peter Beckford, Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica. Throughout the years, the school has continued to distinguish itself; leaving its stamp on the academic records of the nation. The history of St. Jago High School is a fascinating one, spanning 264 years dating back to 1744. The School has an intriguing history and is the result of the amalgamation of no less than three different educational institutions. [1]

St. Jago excels in most sports, most dominantly Track and field. Schools Challenge quiz(2008) is St. Jago's recent victory making it the third tome they have won the academic competition. [1]
