A.J. Dimond High School is a public high school in Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska. Named for former Congressional delegate Anthony J. Dimond, it opened in 1967 and was the third high school in Anchorage. The original building housed both Dimond High and Jane Mears Junior High School until a separate building for Mears Junior High opened in 1968.The two schools double shifted in the high shool building with the jr high going in the morning and the high schoolers going in the afternoon.[1]

In April 1999, Anchorage voters approved the construction of a new building for Dimond. The new building opened in fall 2003. Today, Dimond is home to approximately 2,000 students and over 180 faculty and staff. The current principal is Cheryl Guyett.[1]
