Government Engineering College,Thrissur (Government Engineering College, Trichur) known as GECT is the second oldest and second largest State Engineering College of Kerala, India. It is also popularly known as Thrissur (Trichur) Engineering College. The college was established in 1957. It is located at Ramavarmapuram, 4 km from the center of Thrissur, Kerala, South India. The foundation stone was laid by the first Prime minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and inaugurated by the first Chief minister of Kerala, Pattom Thanu Pillai. This is the Golden Jubilee year of the college (GECT GoldenJubilee) [1]
