Rose Hill Plantation State Historic Site, located near Union County plantation home along the Tyger River, a branch of the Broad River . Rose Hill is the former home of South Carolina Governor civil war , and played an important role in the states decision to secede from the United States. Visitors can see the main historic house as well as surrounding plantation buildings. This site is located in the Enoree district of the Sumter National Forest in the Northern part of the state. At only 44 acrekm2, the site is one of the smaller sites in South Carolinas State Park System .[1]
