- Hotel Features. Opened in 2008, the Intercontinental San Francisco hotel is housed within a 32-story translucent, cool-blue glass tower that ascends over the South of Market district. The hotel's restaurant, Luce, serves California-influenced American fare and Italian cuisine prepared with California ingredients. By night, the restaurant transforms into a celebrity wine restaurant. Bar 888, located in the lobby, serves cocktails, wines and spirits. A total of 39 flexible function rooms includes two ballrooms.
