Overview
Location. The Westgate Hotel pays homage to an anteroom in Versaille, France, by transferring the castle's stylistic beauty to this elegant property in downtown San Diego, Calif. Located across the street from the renowned Horton Plaza and two blocks from the historic Gaslamp Quarter, this hotel stands one mile from Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo.
Hotel Features. A world of opulence features a gilded lobby furnished with French and Flemish tapestries, Persian rugs, and a grand staircase that plateaus adjacent to one of the first five pianos made by Steinway. The hotel's European refinement attracts artists, dignitaries and celebrities with property amenities that include weekday formal teas. The hotel is graced with European antiques, including a seven-foot-long, 18th-century desk used by the concierge. Built by Henri Dasson, this desk is the twin of another located in the king's bedchamber in Versailles. The business center offers comprehensive services. The property's 17 function rooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the restaurants and bars. Le Fontainebleau, the hotel's flagship dining establishment, exudes romantic atmosphere and serves contemporary French cuisine.
