Small Business Guarantee and Finance Corporation (SBGFC) is a government corporate body created on January 24, 1991 by virtue of Section 11 of Republic Act 6977 (or the Magna Carta for Small Enterprises), as later amended by R.A. 8289 and R.A. 9501. SBGFC is the financing arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and under the policy, program and administrative supervision of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development (SMED) Council, the primary agency responsible for the promotion and development of small and medium enterprises in the country. SBGFC is mandated to source and adopt development initiatives for globally competitive small and medium enterprises through the provision and promotion of various alternative modes of financing and credit delivery systems. We are in the forefront of the SME Unified Lending Opportunities for National Growth (SULONG) program of the Arroyo Administration.
