In 1924, the District Superintendent Rev Lloyd Sullivan began the Geylang Methodist Girls' School with Mrs Chan Han Kiat and Miss Walker who were members of the Methodist Church. With a pupil enrolment of 27 (all girls), the school had no premises. So the sanctuary of Geylang Chinese Methodist Church was used as classrooms during the week.
